Document names follow the legal framework
Technical documentation is used here as the general term. Under the Machinery Directive, Annex VII distinguishes the technical file for machinery from relevant technical documentation for partly completed machinery. The Machinery Regulation uses technical documentation. Similarly, instructions for use must be distinguished from assembly instructions for partly completed machinery.
More than a collection of documents
Technical documentation must make the product and the decisions behind it understandable. Drawings, risk assessments, instructions and declarations need to refer to the same product, configuration and version.
- Product identification, variants, intended use and reasonably foreseeable misuse
- Drawings, parts lists, circuit diagrams and technical calculations
- Applicable legislation, standards and assessment records
- Risk assessment, protective measures and residual risks
- Test reports, supplier declarations and verification records
Instructions people can use
Instructions for use and assembly instructions must address the actual users and their tasks. We connect information for use with the risk assessment and the machine as supplied.
- Transport, installation, assembly and commissioning
- Operation, setting, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Residual risks, warnings and required user qualifications
- Target-market languages and consistent terminology
Bring supplier documentation together
For an integrated installation, documents often arrive from different suppliers, at different times and in different formats. We establish document lists, responsibilities and a consistent structure so that missing or contradictory information can be addressed.
Make existing work usable
We can work with juristech templates or your own documentation system. Existing material is checked and completed rather than automatically recreated. The agreed scope may include technical documentation, instruction content, evidence lists and declarations.
What you receive
- Structured technical documentation with a document index
- An overview of available, missing and inconsistent records
- Instructions and residual-risk information aligned with the risk assessment
- Organised supplier documentation and technical evidence
- Consistent product identification, standards references and declarations
Deliverables are agreed to match the product, project stage and scope.
Frequently asked questions
Can existing documentation be reused?
Yes. We assess its suitability, version and product reference, then supplement or correct it where needed.
Do you also review supplier documents?
Yes. Supplier instructions, declarations, drawings and test reports can be included in the documentation review.
Can work be completed remotely?
Often, provided the relevant documents are available digitally. A site visit may be appropriate where the actual machine, interfaces or operating conditions need inspection.
juristech supports technical assessment, regulatory classification and documentation within the agreed scope. Responsibility for product conformity, technical implementation, marking and release remains with the manufacturer or other responsible economic operator. We do not provide representation in legal disputes.
