Start with the product
A meaningful standards search requires an understanding of the product, technical function, intended use, environment and target market. We review your existing standards list and establish the relevant scope.
Research and assess applicability
Finding a standard number is only the start. Its scope, exclusions, edition and relevance to the actual hazards need assessment.
- Harmonised standards for the EU and designated standards for Great Britain
- Type-A, type-B and type-C standards in the machinery context
- Product-specific and cross-sector technical requirements
- Edition dates, superseded standards and the separate status of Official Journal citations or UK designations
- Connections to the risk assessment, safety concept and supporting evidence
Monitor your standards portfolio
For recurring products, machinery series and product families, we establish an agreed package of standards and check it for changes. The service produces a structured update for engineering, quality assurance and technical documentation teams.
Understand what a change means
A new standard does not automatically mean a product must be redesigned. Publication or withdrawal by a standards body must be distinguished from changes to an Official Journal citation or UK designation and the resulting presumption of conformity. We assess implications for the product, risk assessment, instructions, declaration and technical evidence.

Does every standards change require a product change?
No. The effect depends on the change, the product and the applicable requirements. A documented assessment is needed.
Can you start with our existing standards list?
Yes. We can check its relevance, editions and gaps before defining further research or monitoring.
