When conformity needs a clear structure
New machinery, customised equipment, integrated production lines, imports and modifications can all raise conformity questions. We clarify the product, target market, stage of development and your role before defining the work required.
- New machinery and special-purpose equipment
- Assemblies of machinery and supplier interfaces
- Imports, private-label products and incomplete documentation
- Modifications, retrofits and access to a new market
From requirements to evidence
Conformity assessment is a connected process. The declaration and marking must be supported by the actual product and its technical documentation.
- Classify the product and establish the responsible economic operators
- Identify applicable directives, regulations and standards
- Determine the appropriate conformity assessment procedure and whether an EU notified body or a UK approved body must be involved under the chosen assessment route
- Prepare or review the risk assessment and protective measures
- Structure drawings, calculations, test reports, supplier documents and instructions
- Prepare a consistent declaration of conformity and marking information
EU, Great Britain and Northern Ireland
We consider each target market separately. EU machinery projects must distinguish the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC from the Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230. In Great Britain, the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 apply as amended. The applicable legislation determines the assessment route, marking, documentation and representative arrangements. A CE or UKCA mark alone does not demonstrate that the underlying evidence is complete.
Support that fits your project

Deliverables are agreed to match the product, project stage and scope.
Frequently asked questions
Is CE a certification?
In many cases the manufacturer carries out the conformity assessment and declares conformity. Certain products and assessment procedures require a notified body. An external certificate is therefore neither universally required nor a substitute for the complete process.
Can you join a project already in progress?
Yes. We review the current product and documentation status, retain usable work and agree the next priorities.
Who remains responsible?
The manufacturer or other responsible economic operator retains the obligations assigned by the applicable legislation. juristech provides technical assessment and documentation support within the agreed scope.
juristech supports technical assessment, regulatory classification and documentation within the agreed scope. Responsibility for product conformity, technical implementation, marking and release remains with the manufacturer or other responsible economic operator. We do not provide representation in legal disputes.
