EU & UK authorised representative

For manufacturers outside the EU or UK, juristech provides defined representative functions for suitable technical and industrial products. Each mandate is based on an agreed product scope, reviewable documentation and clear responsibilities.

A representative function with a technical foundation

Through juristech Lewandowski E.I. in France, an EU authorised representative mandate can be established for suitable products. UK-related representation is available through the UK structure where the relevant product rules permit and suit that role. EU, Great Britain and Northern Ireland are considered separately.

Define the mandate

The arrangement is more than the use of an address. A written mandate specifies the products, tasks, responsibilities and limits.

  • Product and variant list
  • Applicable target markets and product legislation
  • Manufacturer contacts and document access
  • Representative tasks and limits of responsibility
  • Retention, updates and product-change procedures
  • A process for authority, customer and audit enquiries

Review before onboarding

We review whether declarations, instructions, risk assessments, standards lists, test reports and marking information are plausible and clearly related to the products. Any gaps requiring correction are identified before a mandate is accepted.

Keep evidence available

Within the agreed mandate, documentation is organised and kept available, with product and revision references. Enquiries are assigned to the relevant product and coordinated with the manufacturer. Changes need a controlled update process.

Product scope

The focus is on machinery, special-purpose equipment, industrial assemblies, electrical equipment, control systems, sensors, tools and other technical products. Specially regulated sectors such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food and chemicals are not part of the standard offer; suitability is assessed before acceptance.

EU and UK mandates remain distinct

An EU mandate does not automatically cover the UK, and a UK address does not replace an EU representative. The required roles depend on the product legislation, supply chain and destination. Manufacturer obligations remain with the party assigned those duties by law.

Frequently asked questions

Does every non-EU manufacturer need an authorised representative?

No. This depends on the applicable product rules, supply chain and economic operators already involved.

Can one mandate cover several products?

Yes, where the products, variants, documentation and mandate limits are clearly defined.

Can onboarding be handled remotely?

In many cases yes, using a structured checklist and secure document exchange.

Is a representative a substitute for conformity assessment?

No. A mandate does not replace complete conformity assessment, technical implementation or the manufacturer’s responsibilities.

juristech supports technical assessment, regulatory classification and documentation within the agreed scope. Responsibility for product conformity, technical implementation, marking and release remains with the manufacturer or other responsible economic operator. We do not provide representation in legal disputes.
